Play-off Preview - Under 16s versus Plymouth Marjon

Dorset Storm Under 16s are heading into the post season play-offs this Saturday when they travel to the Devon city of Plymouth.  Storm will rightly be in confident mood, having reflected on their outstanding achievements over the past 10 months as assistant coach Jill Kemish reflects:

“These players have been on an amazing journey.  They should be really proud of what they have achieved…  now is the time to go and have some fun!”

Storm will definitely be looking to have some fun, with all the pressure being on their opponents who lost out on winning the league on the final day of the season.  In contrast to their opponent’s recent form, Storm have gone from strength to strength in the final few weeks of the season.  Excellent team performances against City Academy Bristol, Torbay Tigers and Bristol Flyers have seen the team produce their best basketball ever, and Kemish is confident that this should carry on this weekend:

“We will still be looking to control what we can control.  The players know we can be competitive if we put in a good performance.

“The atmosphere in training has been great recently; the players have been very relaxed, but focused enough too.  We covered a lot of stuff last week which the players have soaked up well, they are showing that they are still hungry and want to improve."

Storm last played Plymouth back in February when, after trailing by 13 at the end of the first quarter they manged to match their opponents for the remaining three quarters. 

“Last time we met, we matched Plymouth for three quarters, we want to and believe that we can better this on Saturday.”

The coaching staff are confident that the players will be up for training this week and that they will have the maximum number of options available to them when the select their team for this weekend.
